RetreatsRetreats offer students a chance to grow spiritually while spending a relaxing weekend with a wonderful community. Five annual retreats including student-led Awakenings and a spring Lenten retreat occur over the course of the year. A Freshmen Overnight Retreat, Busy Person's Retreat, and a Graduate Student/Young Professionals Retreat round out the calendar.

Catholic PALS - Pairs Aspiring to Live Spiritually
Catholic PALS is a one-on-one student ministry program designed to help bring students closer to God through relationships with one another. PALS (Pairs Aspiring to Live Spiritually) meet regularly throughout the semester to talk, pray, and share their faith together. Through prayer and conversation, PALS aim to support each other and help each other to integrate Catholic spirituality into their daily lives. PALS, who ideally do not know each other well at the start of the semester, are free set their own meeting times to work with their schedule. They may plan their own activities, meeting places, and discussions, but suggestions are available for anyone interested. You may sign up for PALS at a Newman event or by contacting a PALS director. You will fill out a brief questionnaire before matching you with a pal for the semester. You may choose to participate with someone of the same gender or the opposite gender.
Living the faith means knowing the faith, so St. Thomas More Newman Center is committed to providing opportunities to dive into topics like morality, church history, sacraments and more. The St. Thomas More Newman Center also provides opportunities to share the Life and Light of our Catholic tradition with the academic community, such as our Newman Speaker’s Series which has featured John Cardinal Foley and George Wiegel.
