Campus Ministry at the Newman Center is committed to the continual education and development of our student leaders through partnership with other Newman Centers and Catholic campus ministry organizations.  Several past events have included:

CMLI

Sponsored by the Catholic Campus Ministry Association and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, CMLI is an annual event to gather college students and campus ministers across the country to celebrate the successes of the young church, compare best practices and empower students for future growth.  Our Catholic Student Association receives a generous grant from the UMC Organization Resource Group which allows 4 students and a campus minister to attend each year.  Most recently, the group that attended CMLI created the Newman Volunteer Corps as their CMLI project!

MACCS:  The Missouri Association of Catholic College Students Conference

MACCS is an annual conference that takes place in November to gather Catholic College Students from campuses across the state.  Student leaders are especially encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to meet those making a difference at other colleges.  MACCS is designed and run each year by a core team of students from campuses all over Missouri. Our local Diocese of Jefferson City typically hosts the event and is proud of our long tradition of active core members and coordinators at the only annual statewide gathering of Catholic college students and Campus Ministers.

Diocesan Leadership Gathering

During the spring semester, students from the Jefferson City Diocese gather together in fellowship, idea sharing, and faith formation.  The structure of this gathering changes yearly based on the interests, desires, and needs of the student leaders but serves as a space where current and emerging leaders from across the diocese can meet and form a greater Catholic student community.
